The first song starts off very cool neat-sounding guitars and cool rhythms, and the vocals at first are pretty cool too. But by the time I heard the same chorus for the fifteenth time, I was ready to change discs. Plus, after the first song, the rest dissolves into twangy rock, just a couple notches above country.

I wasn’t into it. But the band does have a neat quirk: They’re a family band Mom on vocals, Pop on drums, and son on bass. Some might find that neat, others might think it lame. Someone who thinks it’s neat is Elmore Leonard, that novelist who writes horseracing mysteries. Or is that Dick Morris? Yeah, I’m thinking of Dick Morris. Leonard wrote Get Shorty, which I’ve never read. Well, he digs the Coyotes and included some of their songs in one of his books.
